William's Grape Magic

I couldn't resist having him do this trick again in front of the camera after he did it for me yesterday while eating his afternoon snack. He's Priceless.

My Wonderful Husband Brady

I was tagged by Lyndsay to answer the following:

#1 Where did you meet your husband?
We’ll just say through family. Enough said.

#2 How long did you date before you got married?
Almost 3 & ½ years.
#3 How long have you been married?
We just celebrated our 10 year anniversary. Well, we didn't really celebrate, we were in the hosptial having our last child.

#4 What does he do that surprises you?
It still surprises me that he remembers the tiniest details of our lives that most men would forget. Like…special things that happened while we dated, or important times in our lives, things I don’t even remember until he reminds me.
#5 What is your favorite feature of his?
I love his smile. He has the cutest smile and to hear his laugh is like hearing angels sing.

#6 What is your favorite quality?
He truly has a heart of gold. He will do anything for anybody at anytime. He is the most giving person I know. And he does it all so automatic, no effort, no fuss, no stress, just does or gives whatever is needed. And he’s that with the kids and I, too. He's our angel here on earth.
#7 Does he have any nicknames for you?
I couldn't think of any, so I cheated on this one and called to ask him. What he said cannot be repeated on a family blog. But he did remind me that I've always been his Honey. And the more I think about it, he does call me Honey quite often, just never realized it.
#8 What is his favorite food?
He loves lots of foods. But I think his most favorite is BBQ. And that would be BBQ anything that’s a meat and has great flavor.
#9 What is his favorite sport?
Favorite sport, would have to be going to church. And if you know my husband you know his church is in our living room, with the Nascar announcers as his preacher, and the drivers racing as the lesson. So in others words, watching the races on Sunday. Sport...Nascar Racing. And if any of you don’t think that is a sport, you need to come watch a race with a real MAN.
#10 When and where did you first kiss?
Honestly, I could not even tell you. But he’ll be able to tell you. He can probably even tell you the what time it was as well. I think it was at his shop though.
#11 What is your favorite thing to do as a couple?
We enjoy going out to dinner. We have a date night every Friday. We leave all the kids at home and just go out to dinner: Sometimes with other couples, sometimes just by ourselves. We also have a few TV shows that we watch record and watch together after the kids have gone to bed. (another chance to hear his laugh & see his sweet smile).
#12 Do you have any kids?
We have 5 beautiful children +1. We have always tried to raise them as Ours. So when I say we have 5 children, we mean it. As for the +1, well Alyssa had to go and get married so now we have 5 + 1. But we’ll take him, we love him just like our own too.
#13 Does he have any hidden talents?
He has this amazing talent for reading people. He can be in a room with a stranger for about 5 to 10 minutes, and usually can tell me about this person’s personality, that usually takes me months of getting to know this person before I find it out. (was that rambling or did it make sense).
#14 How old is he?
I won’t say how old, but I will say the top of the hill is behind him.
#15 Who said “I love you” first?
Now remember, he will remember this so if I get it wrong he will be correcting me on it. I believe he said it first.
#16 What's his favorite kind of music?
He’s likes so many different kinds, I am not sure what his favorite kind is. If I had to guess, I would say anything by Van Halen. But he loves Garth Brooks, Frank Sinatra, and AM radio talk shows (ok not really music, but he listens to them so much).
#17 What do you admire most about him?
I admire him most for the wonderful memories he makes with his kids. He loves to spend time with them and does many family things with us. He is always thinking of something else we can do, or somewhere else we can go, so our kids have lots of memories.
#18 What is his favorite past time?
When he is not working, spending time with the kids or out to dinner with me, he's on the golf course. He says he's not that great, but he has come to love the sport.
#19 Will he read this?
Yes, he reads every time I update our blog. And because he knows it’s about him, he will be reading sooner, I suppose.
#20 Who do you tag?
Well, first let me say, I hate things like chain emails, games of tag, and other things that ask me to get others involved when I don’t know if they want to, so I don't usually do this kind of stuff. But I liked this one only because it talks about our husbands, not me. So, with that said, please know if you don’t do this I will so not be offended…Now I tag…
Alyssa (cause you’re always looking for something new to put on your blog).
Melani (cause you need something else to do in your busy life).
Ashley (cause you’re newly married & still remember this stuff so this is easy).
Pam & Christi (if you feel the need).
Anyone else who wants to do it (cause I know there are people following my blog and just wish they could do this great game). If you do this, please let me know with a comment so that I can see who else played.

Duck Joke

I know the beginning is hard to understand, so here it is. There are 3 guys who die and go to heaven. St. Peter meets them at the gate and says, "Welcome to Heaven, we only have one rule here. See that Duck pond overthere. Don't step on the ducks..."

Kayla's Night of Comedy

Making The Right Choice Even Though It's Hard.

After three nights of putting on a great "Night of Comedy" Kayla was excited to celebrate her success with other cast members. She was invited to celebrate by going to a movie with a group of friends. Too excited to go, Kayla didn't really pay attention to the movie that was chosen. When she asked us if she could go, we had to tell her how we felt about the movie that was chosen. After researching it out online, we found that the movie was inappropriate for Kayla to see. With tears in her eyes and emotions running high, the decision was made to not go. Feeling like she was the only one who would be at home, we convinced Kayla to call other members of the cast and see if they wanted to go to another, more appropriate movie. She found that most of the cast did not go to the movies, but were at home. Only a few had gone. She ended up not going to the movies at all, and instead went to a friends house to play Wii. I am proud of Kayla's decision to be happy about not going, and find something else to do instead of going with the crowd. I hope she will always think "what is the right choice" and make it--even when it is hard to give up something you really want to do. I know she will be blessed for her righteous decisions.

A Well Needed Moment...

As the holidays approach, my life gets more and more chaotic. So after 2 days of feeling like life will not slow down, and losing my patience too often, I decided I needed to remind myself of the important things. So I sat down to remember the things that are most important to me and put my life back into the proper perspective. So...I am Thankful for...
-My 5 beautiful children, who are all healthy.
-A son in law who takes great care of our daughter and loves her unconditionally.
-The fact that all my children are great kids, get good grades, and bring joy to our family...and are such an example to their parents.
-A husband who loves and provides everything needed for our family and more.
-Family, both close and far away, who makes lifes little challenges a little bit easier.
-A neighborhood with wonderful neighbors who raise their children to be great examples and friends for my kids.
-The gospel that brings peace to my world that is chaotic and full of turmoil.
-My Heavenly Father, who on a constant basis has to put me in my place and remind me that life happens at His time, and that I am loved no matter how many mistakes I make.
-My Eldest Brother Jesus Christ-who would have died even if it was just for me and not the whole world. Because He loves me that much and wants me to return to Him & our Heavenly Father.
-The little things in life that make me happy; a smile, a hug, chocolate, a sick kid to love & take care of, friends, nachos, the sound of rain, a baby's smell, the laugh of a child, music, a good book, a warm fire, hot chocolate, soft cookies, furry socks, my husband and kids...
-The ability to be an instrument in the Hands of the Lord...May I always be aware of where He will have me go and the things He would have me do.

Love all of you and thinking of you as this Thanksgiving Holiday approaches. May your homes be filled with love.

Happy Thanksgiving!!

OH!!! The Weather Outside is Frightful!!!!

DON'T Let it snow!, let it snow, let it snow.

Although we live where it snows all the time, I still can't get used to the cold, and the older Brady and I get the colder it gets. But the kids love it.

Just a little computer art from William...

More Halloween

I think William had the most fun. See how much candy he got.

Santa Clause was even in our neighborhood for Halloween.

Gives new meaning to the Lion Sleeps tonight.

Halloween 2008

The kids had such a great time dressing up. Alyssa & Jake were the Spider Witch & her Skeleton Husband. Kayla was Ell Woods from Legally Blonde while in her depressed state. Mandy was a Greek Goddess. William, I'll let you guess. I think every 4 year old boy was either spiderman, iron man or a transformer. And our cute little Mason was a lion.

Great Big Brother

William just loves being a big brother and is always showing his love in some way...like kisses, hugs, singing, or just reading to Mason.
