Family Cruise In January '09

For Christmas of '08 we gave all of our kids a Mexican Riviera Cruise that we took in January. Brady and I shared a room with William and Mason, while Jake and Alyssa shared a room with Kayla and Mandy. We had such a great time. It was worth it to take the kids on a cruise, but I have to say it is much more relaxing with no kids:)

Our ship as we stood in line to get on.

CABO MEXICO

Since we planned to return to Cabo with all the kids for a week, we decided to just shop and walk around. We found a few friends while walking the town.

Ok, I don't have a picture of me with one, but you notice there is no picture of William with one either. He refused to even get close to one, let alone, let it touch him.

MAZATLAN

In Mazatlan we toured the city with a driver that our friends used just 2 weeks before. Renee was great to take us all over to see the city.

Renee even took us to see the cliff divers. They were pretty cool to watch. Then it was off to the beach to have lunch at a great restuarant, and then some down time just playing in the water.William with Tim (above) & Mark (below) Christensen

Alyssa enjoying the water.

Mandy & Jake waiting for the perfect wave.

Kayla caught the wave and rode it home (to shore that is.)

Just a foot shot of our family. Even little Mason's foot is in there. Can you guess who is who?

Our drive, Renee, was so good to us, he even took us to WalMart to get baby food for Mason. During the cruise, Mason decided bottles just were not enough, he wanted more.

Before we left we had to get a picture of our driver Renee. Also in the picture is the Blight's and the Christensen family.

PUERTA VALLARTA
The whole family went to a water park for a few hours and then the boys and I went back to the ship for a nice long nap. While the girls, Jake and Brady went into town to shop. I have to tell you about the round flying saucer looking ride. It was called the toilet bowl (or at least that is what we called it). It was Kayla and Mandy's favorite ride. You go down this long tube that shoots you out into this bowl and you go around the bowl until you fall out the center bottom of the bowl. Now I learned really quick the larger you are the faster you get shot around the bowl. Kayla and Mandy (little people) loved the ride, Cece (larger) not so much love (or even like) for the toilet bowl. I'd rather clean the one I have a home.

DAYS AT SEA

A little shuffle board. William just keeps on running. Even Mason figured out a way to play.

The funny part about the shuffle board pictures is that they are all fake. I didn't remember to bring out the camera until after the game was over. So I made everyone pretend to still play so that I could get a few pictures. Pretty real looking huh?

This is a serious game of Hand and Foot. Where the girls had the upper hand and gave the guys the foot. No matter what they say, the girls won and the boys lost!!!

Even the kids had their own serious games going on. Look at that concentration.

But the entertainment was not so serious. In fact we laughed so hard. Too bad Mandy & Kayla missed out. I guess the boys in the teen club were just to cute, and they just couldn't be bothered.

OUR LAST DAY- JANUARY 30TH

Since William's birthday is on the 31st and Alyssa's is Feb. 1st, we had our bedrooms decorated for the occasion on our last day. Two things I will never forget. When we went in to our room, we made William stay outside so we could get a picture of his face as he walked in. My camera was set wrong and the picture came out blurry. William slapped his knee and said, "I guess we'll just have to do it again." And we did. Second thing is Jake and Alyssa hid a few balloons under the beds, we suspect they will still be there next year. (Not the greatest housekeepers on our floor.)

OUR LAST NIGHT

We ate dinner at this amazing Mexican restuarant. Our family had eaten there a few nights before, but everyone wanted to go again. This is a painting outside the restuarant. William is posing like a pirate leaning against a tree. He makes me laugh.
